Blogging

I recently read an article on promoting your blog.

I’ve been writing them at random for a while now and have irregularly shared.

Yes I could Write more and be more consistent.

So when I went through the infographic – I did a bit of a check.

Do I have the following social media accounts?

Check.
Then I Googled my name.  Have you ever Googled your Name or Business Name?
Here are a few more placed that I showed up in.
I’ve sent a few emails as a result to update or delete some profiles. It has been a great opportunity to clean up.

I encourage you to check out more of the infographic and see what will help you promote your blog.

Below is a new addition Evan Carmichael and it encouraged me to write the article

“Get on the Phone – Making Contact”

it maybe a couple of days before you can see it

- there is normally a 48 hour review period.

“You can not lead from behind…”

I was lead here.  Yes there is a story, but first have a listen.

I Love “You can not lead form behind…” – did you hear it, feel it?? Did you get the AHA?

Summarizing some of what I listened to:

  • On Purpose – In the Vortex.
  • Feelings are feedback about your proximity to the vortex.
  • The vortex – the source of well-being calling you home.
  • The only thing keeping you out is your own resistance.

Not sure about you – but this was exactly what I needed.

The great thing about all this is that I followed a monkey here. HAHAHAHA!

Seriously….

I was playing with Mailchimp and ConstantContact - while I drafted a couple of newsletters.

I was looking at both of them as I’m a Solution Provider for ConstantContact (one of a few partnerships) yet I wanted to see how Mailchimp integrates with Nimble.

I partnered with Nimble as it is the only solution on the market that integrates the “4 Cs” — contacts, calendar, communications and collaboration: Social Media, Email, and Address Book all in one place.

I can tag a list of my contacts in Nimble and have their information sent to Mailchimp- so that I can then create an email campaign that goes out only to that list.

So I’m in there playing with my lead generation systems and on the top right is that Monkey. “jenn, sometimes you just need to xpress yourself…” with a link to a funny monkey video on youtube.  Yeah – I could not help but click on the link.

Well after watching, I stumbled upon the one shared above. I like how that works….

Creating this blog lead me to more goodies that are worth exploring.

Here is where I’m heading

Getting Past the Introduction

Whether you are introducing yourself or getting an introduction… The Rules are the same.

Keep it in context.

Lead with the topic everyone knows about – them.  You are the audience.

Listen.

The words of Jeff Haden “The best connections never come from speaking; the best connections always come from listening.”

Relationships go through stages.

According to Michael Drew Co-Author of Pendulum: In Action with Roy H. Williams

the stages are the”12 Steps of Intimacy” and they apply to personal and business relationships. Yes there is a System to Building Relationships.

Just like kissing on the first date can make or break a relationship – missing a step in building the relationship, may have you back at the introduction (if you’re lucky).

Know the steps and why they are important, today, in your marketing.

In Common

Jennifer Palmer Cockton My Question - So how do you generate revenue – around your radio show??

If you are still trying learn how – you may find the following helpful.

  • Your radio show is a database of listeners. Do they have any other place to engage with you and other listeners, besides the chat room of your radio show?
  • Do you know specifically the audience you are catering to? Who is listening – outside of family and friends and why?
  • Do you have sponsors that alines with the message you are sending to your listeners? Do they line up with your audience?
Alinement is important – listeners will not tolerate a sponsor with a message                different that the one they came to your show to hear.
  • What is the one commonality they all share, besides your radio show? What interest do they all share with one another? The better you know your target audience the easier it is to market to them.
  • If you could pick one of your listeners as your – ideal listener – who would it be and why? Yyou want more of your ideal listener – who is it? Where do they live? What do they like? Why are they listening to you? Why do they keep coming back and Where do you find more people – like them?
  • Are you listening to your listener?
  • What times or days of the week do you have the most listeners?
  • Do you have listeners that call in?
  • You want to know their interests, likes, and dislikes. Where and how they like to relax. You want to know more about them. Details! They are who you cater to and they will bring more people – like them. People share what they like and what they do not like.
  • They may not tell you in words “Hey Richard, I like Espresso and Chocolate Ice Cream for Breakfast the Monday’s of a Long Weekend.” As clear as there are questions without question marks, they are telling you. They are telling the world. You only have to know where to look.

The Key is listening to find what they have In Common.

Say Hi – to your new friend.

ELO  - (no not the band) Explore, Listen and Observe.

Focus on what “IS” – not what “IS NOT”.

The easiest way to begin creating relationships online is to see what some one is doing, where and find out what you have in common.

The Question: “What do we have in common?”, is an easy one to answer.
HINT -Sometimes – it’s what you do not have in common
that creates the best conversation.
Check out Photos and other posts. Watching posts – is Listening Online.
  • People - Possibly you have some of the same friends or networks. Do you like the same historical figures and celebrities? Are you both Parents?
  • Places – Have you Traveled or lived in the same places. Have they been places you would like to go?
  • Pets and other animals. i.e I Love Lions and Tigers.s
  • Palate – Food and Drinks – Are you both vegan or meat lovers? Do you both like wine or coffee?
  • Physical – Fitness – do you both go to the gym, run, hike, ski, golf, dance, etc. Illness – connects many.
  • Play – what do they do with their leisure time? Are there Jokes and Quotes you both like? Rumor has it – the secret to humor is surprise. Did a post surprise you? – share what it was that surprised you.
  • Passion – this includes charity and causes, interests, art, literature, business, etc.
  • Your faults or failures, bad days, imperfections and differences.

“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless
you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived
at all.”
