Last night I did not feel like doing much. I laid down with my phone and was doing some late night surfing, on my social media channels. I came across a company called Drift
I watched a video and I was interested enough that I downloaded the app. Now remember it was late, so when I opened the app and did not see much for me to do, I went on to other things.
Drift however did not go on to other things and at 8:40pm I got an email.
At 8:45pm another email thanking me for signing up with Drift and letting me know that they would be happy to show me some secrets behind using Drift, if I was interested all I needed to do was reply to the email. I replied and this morning an account executive emailed me before 8am with a more personal message.
What I was really interested in was a Solution Partner relationship with Drift. However, I’m understanding that doesn’t currently exist. I spent some time on Drift’s youtube channel (which needs to be branded :)) checking them out.
It did not take long for me to see what they are up to and that I liked the tool enough to try it out. I opened a free account with Drift with my email address.
There are various other options like HubSpot, Shopify, Segment, and WordPress. Here’s a great video to see how easy it can be.
The Drift app let’s me control my availability to chat, manage my notifications and has all my conversations. I can also monitor and reply to those conversations, right from my smartphone. When I’m not available to chat – someone visiting my website can send me a message for me to respond to later.
I thought it would be great if I could have all the chat contacts added to my CRM and create a task for follow up and with in a few minutes I created it.
Here is what you need to do the same.
- A CRM – SystemsGirl uses Nimble and we are a Solution Partner, if you are looking for a CRM and/or database implementation services. Free Trial available
- A free basic Drift.com account
- A free basic Zapier.com account
- API codes for Nimble and Drift – these are specific to your accounts.
If you are not familiar with API codes, API is short for Application Programming Interface. Basically, the API code lets the software systems communicate with each other.
A post on social from earlier today “Added @Drift to a website created a #zap via @zapier linking contact info from the chat. This created a new contact in @Nimble CRM & added a task to activities – ensuring followup. #integrations #api #tools #marketing #conversations #leadgeneration What to Learn more?”
